Classic and Retro Vibe

Hakama is a wide pleated skirt-like cloth worn over traditional kimono and tied above the waist. It was worn as a school uniform until the early 1900's. This retro look is a popular choice to wear for high school and college graduations today. We coordinate Hakama with rather casual kimono which makes it appropriate to wear around town for any occasion.

All of our kimono rentals are by appointment only. To ensure a quality, personal, and special experience, we only offer service for one group at a time.

Hair Styling

Hair styling is included in our kimono rental plans. We do not offer extreme, elaborate hairstyles, but instead we focus on reflecting the simplicity and elegance of our kimonos.

How It Works

The following is a step-by-step explanation of how our kimono rental plan works:

Step 1 - Make an appointment
All of our rentals are by appointment only. Please make an appointment using the online booking calendar from this site. You can see all of the available dates/times online.
Step 2 - Confirming an appointment
As soon as the booking is made online, you will receive an email confirmation so you can check your appointment details. Within 24-48 hours, you will receive another email from us, finalizing your appointment. Should you need to change or cancel your appointment, please contact us in advance.
Step 3 - Arrival
On the day of your appointment, please come to our salon 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. In case you are running late or need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible. We provide everything you need, so you do not need to bring anything.
Step 4 - Choosing your kimono and accessories
Once you check in, you will enter our traditional tatami room where you will choose your kimono and accessories with the help of our staff. You will go through a catalogue first, and our staff will pull out and show you your selections. You will get to coordinate colors and patterns of kimono, obi, obijime, and obiage. Our customers find this process very exciting and special.
Step 5 - Getting Dressed
After you choose your kimono and accessories, our experienced kitsuke staff will dress you. Our licensed staff will make sure that you are comfortable and that your kimono will stay intact for the whole day.
Step 6 - Hair Styling
Next up is hair styling. This rental plan includes simple yet elegant hair styling that suits your style and kimono.
Step 7 - Departure
When your kimono and hair styling is complete, we will ask you to pay before you leave. We accept cash and major credit cards. You can safely leave your belongings at our salon during your excursions in town (no valuable items, please).
Step 8 - Return
Please return to our salon no later than 5:30 PM on the same day. You will change back into your clothes and return the kimono at the salon. If you would like to enjoy the kimono until later at night, there is an option to return it on the next morning (with an additional ¥1,100). Let us know before you leave if you would like this option. Please do not forget to return the kimono.

《Caution about cancellation》

This is a private salon with only one group per hour.

Therefore, uncertain reservations will cause inconvenience to other customers who wish to make reservations.

Please make a reservation with a solid plan.

Also, if you have to cancel due to unavoidable circumstances, please be sure to contact us at least 2 days in advance.

 

If you cancel on the day of the reservation, or if you cancel without contacting us, you will be charged a cancellation fee, so please make a reservation after agreeing.

Book Kimono Rental

Check availability from the calendar and choose your date and time slot. Appointments are every 30 minutes, but the entire kimono process lasts about 1 hour. If you would like to book for more than 5 people or need to book at the last minute (less than 24 hours), please contact us directly.
